Students: How to Navigate the Fair Module

Before Getting Started:
  1. Register for a virtual fair. See, Registering Students for Virtual Fairs
  2. Attend the virtual fair on the live event date. See, How to Access a Virtual Fair on Fair Day
Modules may have different names for each fair, but they will always perform the same function.
Click on the College/University Fair module.



Fair (University/College Fair)

The fair module contains all of the college/university booths. 

  1. Scroll to see the virtual college booths. 
  2. On the left side of the page, use the ‘Filter Options’ to find colleges that match student preferences.
  3. Click the star in the top right corner of a university booth to add them as a ‘favorite.’  
    1. These will save to 'My Favorites' in the top right corner of the screen next to profile information. For more info, see: Understanding the Student Profile


Filter Options

Filter universities based on the following criteria:
  1. Institution Name
  2. Application Style
  3. Application Type
  4. Campus Setting
  5. Campus Size
  6. Institution Type
  7. Majors Offered
  8. Regions
Booths

University booths provide students with multiple means of engagement and a plethora of information, including (but not limited to):
  1. University website
  2. Contact Information
  3. Campus Size & Setting
  4. Majors Offered
  5. Application Types & Styles
Watch the college's videos, download important documents and engage with representatives using the meet later, 1:1 message, or group video chat features (not all of these features will be available for every booth). 



1:1 Message Features



1:1 Message allows students to  message one-on-one in real time with a representative from the University (during live fair hours). 


  1. Use the blue video camera icon to start a video chat.
  2. The  will block any unwanted content.
  3. Download the conversation using the   icon.
  4. Attach documents with the paperclip icon and use emoticons with the smiley face. 
  5. The message feature has an audio cue to alert students of new messages.
Pro Tip: If a student has 1:1 Messages with multiple universities, manage them in the 'My Chat' portal of your account profile. 


Group Video Chat

Group Video Chats are an open forum where many students can engage with representatives.



This is a great place for students that may not have questions of their own, but would like to hear what other students are asking (during the live fair hours).
